Dans le cadre du projet collectif (S)EXPOSER Mélanie Peduzzi propose aux habitant.e.s de répondre à un questionnaire sur leur rapport à l’art contemporain : le rôle de l’artiste dans la société, son statut social, le sens des œuvres qu’il crée… Ce questionnaire tentera également de laisser une place à l’imaginaire et la pensée critique en proposant à chacun.e d’imaginer un objet ou une action à réaliser. Chaque artiste du projet (S)EXPOSER à un budget de production de 500 euros : Que ferais-tu avec ces 400 euros et avec quel objectif ?

Pour la résidence (S)EXPOSER un duo d’artistes s’est formé pour travailler autour du vêtement comme un langage, un moyen de faire valoir son identité dans l’espace public. Comment porter des vêtements peut devenir un moyen de s'exposer ? Quels pouvoirs nous donnent nos habits ?
Les habitant.e.s et passant.e.s du Square Albert sont invité.e.s à venir discuter de leurs costumes de vie avec Maureen Dodémont et Thiaba Diop Egutchi, qui habilleront l’espace de ces récits.

Lors de la résidence (S)EXPOSER, Adèle Jacot propose aux habitant.e.s du quartier de travailler à partir de l’actualité : du pass sanitaire, du tracing, de la surveillance policière et marketing, de la prise de risque individuelle et collective pour parler de nos libertés, d’identités, d’actions, d’allers et venues. Elle vous propose d’obtenir un faux passeport gratuit pour partir et rester où vous voulez, dire ce que vous voulez, être entendu de qui vous voulez, faire ce que vous n’osez pas. Comment disparaître ? Comment échapper au contrôle de la police, d’instagram, de ma mère, de mon mari, du tracing, de ma virilité, du monde de l’art, de moi-même… ?

Ma place au soleil.
Pendant la résidence à Komplot Marie Diaby s’est interrogée sur les termes et enjeux de la participation, a appris à jouer au bonneteau, s’est demandée à quoi elle avait envie d’être exposée et a acheté un costume doré. À la fin de la résidence elle a réalisé un micro trottoir sur le soleil et a installé en vitrine de Komplot un « exposed space » laissant la possibilité à chacun.e d’intégrer la vitrine de la galerie et de s’exposer aux regards, sous les rayons solaires de néons.

Ichraf Nasri ‘Actées’ est une série de pièces qui inscrit la mémoire personnelle dans l’espace urbain. Inscription s’entend ici au propre comme au figuré : des plaques commémoratives sont disséminées dans l’espace public, dans le quartier de Cureghem à Anderlecht et à proximité. Chaque plaque imprimée est associée à un point précis où s’est déroulé un événement marquant. Toutefois, elles ne contribuent pas à la conservation mais plutôt à la création de souvenirs collectifs donnant une identité autre à un lieu et formant une carte subjective. Un lieu est un espace dans lequel s’imprime une perception collective mais aussi le résultat d’une perception intime. A partir de rencontres individuelles avec les habitant.e.s, Ichraf Nasri propose une relecture personnelle d’événements passés en lien avec le quartier. Ces entretiens laissent transparaître la nostalgie, la tristesse, la joie ou même la dérision, mais peut-être aussi ce que certains codes jugent insignifiant. Dans le contexte de (S’)EXPOSER, ces plaques pourraient être l’équivalent des cartels. Ces objets ne seraient donc pas l'œuvre, mais accompagneraient la véritable création :une mémoire collective inscrite dans le local.

Within the framework of the collective project (S)EXPOSER Mélanie Peduzzi proposes to the inhabitants to answer a questionnaire on their relationship to contemporary art: the role of the artist in society, his social status, the meaning of the works he creates... This questionnaire will also try to leave a place to the imagination and the critical thought by proposing to each one to imagine an object or an action to realize. For the residency (S)EXPOSER a duo of artists formed to work around clothing as a language, a way of asserting one's identity in the public space. How can wearing clothes become a way to expose oneself? What powers do our clothes give us?
The inhabitants and passers-by of Albert Square are invited to come and discuss their life's costumes with Maureen Dodémont and Thiaba Diop Egutchi, who will dress the space with these stories.

During the residency (S)EXPOSER, Adèle Jacot proposes to the inhabitants of the neighborhood to work on current events: the health pass, tracing, police surveillance and marketing, individual and collective risk-taking to talk about our freedoms, identities, actions, comings, and goings. It offers you to get a free fake passport to go and stay where you want, to say what you want, to be heard by whom you want, to do what you don't dare. How to disappear? How to escape the control of the police, of Instagram, of my mother, of my husband, of tracing, of my virility, of the art world, of myself...?

My place in the sun.
During the residency at Komplot, Marie Diaby questioned the terms and stakes of participation, learned to play the game "bonneteau", asked herself what she wanted to be exposed to and bought a golden suit. At the end of the residency she realized a micro sidewalk on the sun and installed in the window of Komplot an "exposed space" allowing everyone to integrate the window of the gallery and to expose themselves to the eyes, under the solar rays of neons.

Actées by Ichraf Nasri is a series of pieces that inscribe personal memory in urban space. The inscription is understood here literally as well as figuratively: commemorative plaques are scattered in the public space, in the district of Cureghem in Anderlecht and its surroundings.
Each printed plaque is associated with a specific point where a significant event took place. However, they do not contribute to the conservation but rather to the creation of collective memories giving another identity to a place and forming a subjective map. A place is a space in which a collective perception is imprinted but also the result of an intimate perception. From individual meetings with residents, Ichraf Nasri proposes a personal re-reading of past events related to the neighborhood. These interviews allow nostalgia, sadness, joy, or even derision to shine through, but perhaps also what some codes consider insignificant. In the context of (S')EXPOSER, these plaques could be the equivalent of cartels. These objects would therefore not be the work, but would accompany the real creation: a collective memory inscribed in the space.

Xeno- is an artistic platform dedicated to everyone who identifies themselves as a woman, gender non-conforming, and non-binary with a focus on marginalized artists of Color.
